3-D Mammography

What is a 3-D Mammogram?

A 3-D mammogram is an advanced imaging technique used to screen for breast cancer.

During a 3-D mammogram, multiple X-ray images are taken from different angles and combined to create a detailed, three-dimensional view of your breast tissue. This allows for more accurate detection compared to traditional screening mammograms.

Request a Mammogram

At CHRISTUS Health, you can receive a 3-D mammogram for a more advanced and accurate breast cancer screening.

3-D mammograms may be especially helpful if you:

To get started:

  • Fill out the form to request an appointment
  • Call 888-802-0410 to schedule your mammogram

Once your request is received, our team will contact you to confirm your appointment.

Insurance Coverage

Please note that 3-D mammography may not be covered by all insurance carriers. When our team contacts you, be sure to ask about your coverage options.

If your insurance does not cover a 3-D mammogram, a 2-D screening mammogram is available as an alternative.

Request a Mammogram

Mammograms can detect breast cancer early, when it’s most treatable. Fill out this form and a CHRISTUS representative will reach out via phone or email within 1-2 business days.

Benefits of 3-D Mammograms

Approved by the FDA

3-D mammography is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a clinically advanced option compared to traditional mammography. This approval provides confidence for both you and your care team in the effectiveness of 3-D breast imaging.

Detects Invasive Cancer Sooner

Compared to conventional 2-D mammography, 3-D mammography has been shown to increase invasive breast cancer detection rates by up to 41%. The ability to view breast tissue in thin layers helps radiologists identify abnormalities more accurately and at earlier stages.

Reduces False Positives

3-D mammography can reduce false-positive results by up to 40%, meaning fewer unnecessary callbacks for additional imaging. This helps minimize extra appointments, reduces the need for follow-up procedures or biopsies, and lowers stress and uncertainty during the screening process.
